Gavin Halm // Image + Sound

Description
Gavin is an interdisciplinary artist working with images and sound whose pieces sit between the manual-dexterous and the computer-articulated as works on paper as well as hand-animated, screen-based and projected video accompanied by audio and music composed via computational and classical techniques - Further info and examples forthcoming.

Gavin was clasically trained as a violinist from childhood into his early 20's, performing in various chamber and orchestral groups, and presently enjoys exploring keyboard synths and computer composition. He holds a MFA in Media Arts from UCLA School of the Arts, as well as a BA in Computing Arts from UCSD VisArts.

After working for over a decade in various fields of professional media, he now teaches media production and theory courses within the Communication Department at UCSD in La Jolla, California.
